Who is this programme for?
The GCSE Art & Design programme is open to students aged 11-15 years with a passion for either art or fashion, that would like to achieve an GCSE Textiles or Art, Craft & Design pathway. Students will benefit from individual support in small groups. The course welcomes children with ‘Superpowers’ (SEN) and looks for the best way to support them. The programme has a broad approach to Art, Craft & Design and a strong skills based focus, hence it is suitable for young people with various interests and abilities.
There is no need for previous experience of Fine Art or traditional still life, but a good command of drawing is desirable.
GCSE Enrichment programme
The GCSE Enrichment Programme is for students enrolled on the GCSE Art, Craft & Design pathway. It offers out of classroom experiences, skills workshops, in-depth research, discussion groups and participation in competitions. The Enrichment programme help candidates build up an interesting design portfolio and well rounded resume. It also offers young people an opportunity to develop a passion for the arts, design and fashion through real life experiences rather than bookish classroom assignments. Older students can also use the Enrichment programme towards their Duke of Edinburg Award.
